Hi Dirk,

It's all about the 'particle' being used for vaccine development. For vaccine development, 'virulent' portions of the genes/proteins are knocked off. Only those proteins/genes are utilized as 'antigens' that may act as the fingerprints of the pathogen, but not the arsenal.
