Hi Rajsekhar,

Interview would be the only thing you need to focus on., your academic performance is otherwise a perfect match for NUS. You'll get the interview call once you apply for the PhD.

Best Wishes

Hi Rajsekhar,

Try to google "tips to crack phd at nus". You will get good material. Also my previous post would be useful:

Hi Abhi,

The application deadline for fall 2015 intake (August intake) was 1st of Nov 2014. The appropriate time for you would be January intake, for which the deadline is 1st of May 2015 (sufficient time for application post GATE result).

Hope it helps.

Best Regards
Sunil

Dear Sir,

I have secured 98.5 percentile in GATE 2016 (Biotechnology). I have not given GRE yet. My percentage up to 7th sem is 70.48 (B.E in Biotechnology) at NSIT, Delhi. I have one research paper. Is my profile strong enough to be considered for any scholarship ?? My financial condition is not that good!!

Yours sincerely
Rob

Hi Rob,

Your profile is good and once you apply you should get a call for screening (provided your recommendation letters are strong enough). It's the screening that will decide whether you are going to get the offer or not.

So, no worries and go for the application. Try to contact a prof there as well.

Best wishes

Dear Sir,
I am Indranil Mukherjee, I have completed MSc Biochemistry from University of Calcutta in 2015 with 62% and BSc from Nagpur University with 71%(university second topper), I have scored 82% in HSC and 91% in SSC. I was teaching students after that and was parallely preparing for GATE XL . I have cleared GATE XL 2016 and I have AIR 168 with 98.87 percentile. I have applied for Mtech in all IITs and recieved call letters too. I have got direct offer letter from IIT Kharagpur from Department of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering. So I never went anywhere for interviews and accepted the offer. Now I came to your forum and got to know this thing that its better to go for Phd after MSc but I have keen interest in getting first hand experience in all technical parts in biotechnology and then I want to go for Phd. My question for you is willI be getting any benifit of doing MTech in future in research aspect? Will I be facing any problem in getting job placement (in case I opt for job after MTech)? Should I apply for NUS now or I will be aboe to apply after my MTech too ? Please help sir.
