Thank you so much sir for your reply. It indeed cleared my doubts. My aggregate is in 1st class and final year is in Distinction. Even I am a bit worried about this. However I hope my Paper Publication helps me little. Keeping my fingers crossed.

@Sunil,

Hello Sir,

I have scored 7.5 cgpa in B.tech Biotechnology. I finished the course in the year 2010. Then I worked in bank for sometime. Now I would like to pursue PHD in life science field. My aim is to get PHD scholarship in NUS. I wrote GRE and scored 298. since it is not a good score, im planning to write GATE 2016 life science. Since I finished B.tech before 5 years and as I also worked in Bank, do I still hold a good chance of getting PHD scholarship in NUS or in IIT in India? Is my CGPA good enough to get selected?

As IISC is the organising centre, Can u please give some tips on how to prepare especially for GATE Life science 2016 exam?

Awaiting Your Response. Thank You.

Hi.. I did my graduation in biochemical engineering in 2014. I want to do MS in either NUS or NTU in Chemical Engineering. So, am I eligible for MS in the same? Also, my gate percentile 2015 is around 75 which I know is not good enough. Can I apply in advance if I'm sure about my score in GATE? Also I'm however planning to give GRE in a month or two.
Please also suggest which one is better NTU or NUS? Which uni provide better job opportunities?

Hi isha,

You will need a valid qualifying exam to support your application. The next deadline is in November, I am sure you'll be able to meet that and write GRE before that. NUS is a better choice. You will find ample flexibility in designing your curriculum and should expect quality research (publishing a paper at all cost not being an obligation). There are reviews of many students at NTU about negative academic politics there. So summing up, NUS is a better choice. Also, on a personal front, I have my friends and juniors there in NUS, all seem content and happy over their decision.

Apply with a valid score (thats a strong suggestion).

NUS offers good job opportunities, so not to worry about that. (Keep a check on Visa obligations though).

Hope it helps

Best wishes

Hi Harini,

My immediate suggestions are:
a) Enroll for 6 months to 1 year project fellowship / training in the domain you are interested in.
b) Contact a professor of your interest there in NUS. Let him know your details and aspirations

Read through an article I wrote about GATE Biotech (Just Google: "GATE Biotech" ).

Feel free to shed your queries, if there are any.

Best wishes

Hi,

He would need to pass in atleast second division with a valid GATE/GRE score to support his application.
I would suggest to apply for a PhD (more chances of getting a scholarship).

Hope it helps.

Hello Sonakshi,

You will need a very good GATE score to make your case strong. Apart from MSc, apply for PhD too (as said earlier, chances of getting a scholarship are far more in that case). Contact a prof of interest there for PhD as well.

Hope it helps.
