I am a 2nd year B.Tech Biotechnology student. I wanted to know how important it is to have an internship during the period of study. I am finding it hard to get one.
Is there any way I can enhance my chances of having a good career in the field without having an internship?
Hi Tanvi,
It is always beneficial to get an internship or even a paid training during the breaks (summer/winter), no matter which year you are in. People look for your appetite for learning and extent of exposure through your industrial/research training profile. It will help you a lot in getting a good academic / industrial position in future.
Having said that, you can still make a career without internships, but that's not recommended. And it will be a tough question to respond to, when employers or scientists might ask the question about poor internship profile in your resume.
Hope it helps
