what kind of actual work doing during summer internship.
and is their any special studying or knowledge is needed for it.
or what kind of basics needed in it.
I went for training at National Chemical Laboratory last year, this year going to IISc Bangalore on a fellowship. So I think I can answer you.
Be clear with your BASICS (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, etc). It depends on the lab you are going. If you are going for dry lab, u should know MATLAB, Python, PERL, Autodock... (Depends on the Lab, what they're working on, what tools they use).
Wet lab could be on Molecular biology or Biochemistry. Here you should have practised working on various equipments used in your own lab.
(One of my seniors learnt Extraction of DNA from different blood, tissue samples in 2 months)
Go through the lab website where you wish to go, their Research papers, the work professor is doing, you will get to know.
Generally they give you small problem statement to work on. You could work under a PhD scholar, or project assistant, or maybe independently.
