Ergonomist are Engineers who invest their knowledge in finding out the interaction of humans with the systems and various processes. They apply the scientific knowledge to help humans while dealing with various objects, systems and environment.
Today many industries and other places need ergonomist in their EHS departments. EHS stands for Environment, Health and Safety. Ergonomist play a critical role in EHS departments as they take care of health of their staff members and other concern members of any team / organization. Ergonomist also ensure that whatever is the surrounding environment, where the staff works, is properly organized and designed in such a way that it supports the safety, health, comfort and efficiency of the people. Not only this but, today ergonomist are required in motor manufacturing industries, like in car designs, leisure facilities and furniture’s etc., This is to ensure that the extra strain on human body is reduced while working in various required postures and can comfortably work for many hours in relax positions and postures.
As rightly said, Good Ergonomics is Good Economics, this is the field were one can develop such products in alignment with customers requirements which are profitable, comfortable and achieves required results. With the development of science, new top recruiters of ergonomists are emerging these induces manufacturer of products, equipments and transport designs, information technology and other fields like robotics, aerospace and mobile technologies.
Ergonomist career is growing with awareness and various statutory requirements coming in place. But at the same time there is lot more things which are still not in place and with awareness and other requirements, the scope and career in ergonomics is going to grow further in various fields.
