Thanks for your query. You rightly mentioned that we get lot of useful information from various posts in this forum. This forum is really a great platform for all of us in which we can share our views / knowledge and thus can jointly take a good decision; may it be with respect to our career or may it be on our educations. Lot of brainstorming is done in this forum and lot of knowledge is shared on various disciplines of life sciences like Biotechnology, Microbiology, Medical science, Diagnostics, Nanotechnology etc.

Coming back to your query, there are many institutes and companies that provide research training for undergraduate students. In many institutes, the training begins in early summer and its period vary as per the requirement of student as well as the organization involved. Below are the top five organizations if we consider research training for undergraduate students.

1) Novartis India Limited.
2) Pfizer Limited.
3) Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory.
4) Lupin Research Park.
5) Panacea Biotech Limited.

In these organizations, a training curriculum has been set. This almost covers all important aspects of research work. In such curriculum, a proper training is given to the trainee right from first day. This includes induction program, understanding of safety regulations, cGLP guidelines, top manual's requirements, research data accumulation, analysis, statistical tools to be used for analysis, and details on various requirements of authorities’ for completion and approval of any research work. This way the trainee learn all important aspect in such a short time period. He can thus successfully apply this knowledge latter on while doing his actual research work. Such institutes uses practical approach while training a student on research work which is really useful for a student through out his life.

Therefore as per your interest in going for research, I would like to suggest you to go through this useful link in which you will get a brief idea on various aspects of research and how organizations work on it to make it a success.
