M goin to give entrance exams this year.i had pcm with biotech in 12th.i want to gefr btech biotech but being unsur of the career options and the salary involved my parents wont allow me to go fr is degree.cud u please tell me abt the degree optios career options as well as the salary .that wud hlp me a lot

If a good paying corporate Job in India is your top priority then I would suggest you to pursue a course other than Biotechnology.

If you have good interest in Biotechnology and have inclination towards doing research, then you can get good jobs in Biotechnology in India after your M.Tech only. By good job I mean a package of above Rs 25000/- per month.

Unless you pursue B.Tech from a top notch/recognized/government college, the chances of getting a good job after B.Tech in Biotech are very limited. You can fetch a good job after B.Tech only if you keep your academic performance very good.

Good Job sectors in Biotechnology in India are:
Food Biotechnology
Bioprocess/Biochemical Engineering
Bioinformatics
Biomedical Engineering
Agricultural Biotechnology
