Hello Shivani,

About written: The written test will examine the analytical ability of students with examples from biology, and does not require memorization of any biological terminologies. A sample question paper is attached to this reponse.

About interview: Your preparation should be best for your project. Followed by a subject of your interest which they might ask about.

Best wises

Hello Malay,

Congrats for the admission offer. Kgp is good in terms of placements (esp. research wise it is a great place. Profs are known for publishing in high impact journals like Nature). There are people from IIT Kgp who are working with me as well. In addition, you can easily get admission to a great Grad School in US/Europe once you complete your MTech from Kgp.

You really don't need to worry about the time you spent in the interview at IITB. As long as your answers were as per expectations of the professors, your candidature as a strong chance. And then your GATE performance will also matter, so will your written test performance.

And a humble request to you:

"Please share your screening experience of IIT Bombay. I hope you understand that it will help a lot of students."

Best wishes

Hello Kamya,

Congrats for the call. You should be crystal clear of Continuous Bioreactor concepts like Washout. A thorough understanding of difference between Batch, Fed Batch and Continous reactors is expected.

Terms like Yield, Productivity, Activity, Specific mass etc should be known.

Enzyme kinetics should be crystal clear.

Understand basic concepts of chromatography types as well.

And know your Final Project very well (questions are often asked in that regard).

Stay confident, if you don't know an answer, just frankly accept that rather than dragging along the time.

Best wishes

Hello Sunil sir, does written test marks and GATE score really matter in selecting a candidate for adm through intervw?

Yes it matters when your interview doesn't go really bad. Interviewers use scores to make a decision when interviewees are too many (nearly 40), and when above 20 people give competitive interviews.

Hope it helps

*And looking forward to your piece of writing towards sharing your experience about IIT Bombay written and interview.

Best wishes
