I hope you went through the links shared in the first post of this thread? There are lots of tips and suggestions shared over last few years.

As I suggest to others, if one is running short of time, the best way is to first go through each and every question of previous years very thoroughly. Not only should you read about the right answer, but also about the significance of every option in an MCQ.
This approach will not only help you grasp a lot concepts but also make you accustomed to the pattern of questions asked.
As far as subjects are concerned, Bioprocess has always fetched linked questions or descriptive questions. Industrial Microbiology is also very important. I have actually shared a general list of important subjects and topics on BiotechStudents.com. The links to all my posts are there in the first post of this thread. That should be helpful.

As a brief, GATE BT or GATE Biotechnology, is a competitive exam for Indian and (some Asian) students to obtain admission in Masters / PhD courses related to Biotechnology (or interdisciplinary courses) in top tier universities / colleges of India, Singapore and Germany.

My name is Zaid and I have appeared for the Gate Biotech exam held on 5th Feb 2017 IIT roorkee...and i must say the paper was pretty tough as I have seen their 2009 papers and most of it was unexpected. the answer keys will be displayed on the official website on 27 Feb 2017 and results on 27 March 2017. I have no idea about the cutoff though..anybody thinks it will be higher?

Cut off may be higher because many questions that has been asked were so easy for the life science person
